"Winter lies too long in country towns; hangs on until it is stale and shabby, old and sullen."
-willa cather
lately i've been drinking a lot of black coffee after all these years of being convinced that cream and sugar makes it taste better; wrong. i guess i owe everyone an apology for not updating in three months. i can't say that my life has changed must in the past few months: i still shop at the gourmet grocery store up the road, dark chocolate is my favorite as is sulawesi coffee (for its moutherwatering tendencies), i still have 80 pairs of shoes and obsessively clean my apartment, i haven't cut my hair since april so it's become annoyingly long and unhealthy.
andrew and i are still best friends- we fight about everything (including whose version of "whipping post" is better, the allman brothers or frank zappa) and i ban him to the couch where neither he or i get any sleep because he is trying to find a comfortable way to sleep on a 5'9" couch with a 6'2" body and i can hear the springs squeaking all night under the weight of his restlessness. johnny mango's still has the best sangria, gilmore girls is still my favorite show (with the office and scrubs nipping at her heels), BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is still the worst show, and i still do not like frank zappa.
school is still school and still hard, i had to drop my real estate market analysis class, not because the information wasn't interesting and the professors didn't provide endless mocking sessions, but because it took me 3 weeks to nearly complete a project due in two. my inexperience in finance and economics has finally caught up to me. so i have to overload this spring if i intend on graduating. double frick.
things i've done lately and fallacies about me portion of the blog:
decemberists show at the agora- THE MILLER LITE LOUNGE.
joanna newsom show (w/ bobby bird[brain]) at the beachland-she played ys straight through with no encore.
liquid lunch at the mango's with my starbucks colleagues.
i didn't vote, it is not my civic duty, and it doesn't mean that i don't care about the state of my well, state.
i am not a clevelander. i do not drive recklessly or love the colors brown and orange. i do not define myself as an east or a west sider, or claim that either side is better. football is not my life and yes i know that the football hall of fame is in some shitty town around here, ending in burg or ville, possibly beginning with the prefix new.
more to come.
